The electric guitar was created in 1931. While it’s called an “electric” guitar, no electricity actually moves through the instrument itself. Instead, it uses electromagnetic impulses to convert the strings’ vibrations into electric signals that can be manipulated and distorted by the player. The electric guitar has had more influence on modern music than any other instrument.
