How It Works
In this code, each utensil has a different value. A knife is worth 1 point. Each spoon counts for 5 points. A fork receives 10 points. Add up the value of each group of utensils, then match the resulting number to a letter in the alphabet.

Soup kitchens have provided meals for the poor and homeless for centuries. Sir Benjamin Thompson (born 1753) is considered the creator of the modern soup kitchen. In his 30s, Benjamin started feeding the poor in Germany and even founded Rumford’s Soup, a low-cost, “scientifically engineered” soup for the poor made from barley meal, vegetables and potatoes.
Today, soup kitchens help people all over the United States and the world. The world’s largest soup kitchen is in Punjab, India. It serves up to 300,000 people each day!
