Ballet Touch

I saunter into the unlit room
I turn on the gleaming light
Flexible pink shoes slip on my feet
I leap to the heart of the floor
I pirouette on the hardwood
The melody doesn’t let me stop
I step to the music’s flowing rhythm
I dance my heart out
All of my breath has left me
I turn the light off
I’m done now until tomorrow.
