Darren Gagnon and his wife, Stacey, are passionate advocates for adoption, foster care, and children with special needs. The couple founded Lost Sparrows, a non-profit ministry providing education and training to social service officials and caregivers working with children in orphanages and foster care. Stacey regularly blogs and speaks on these issues and is the creator/director of Trauma Lens Care, which provides training on trauma, substance abuse, and adverse child experiences in schools, jails, and public forums. The Gagnons have been involved in foster care for 14 years with more than 30 children. Darren and Stacey have also co-authored a book titled Cowboy Joel and the Wild, Wild West which addresses bullying and learning to accept others’ differences. The Gagnons have seven children, five of whom were adopted, and reside in northern Indiana.
