Concerned About Having Enough Money for Adoption

Do you have any advice or suggestions for funding the adoption process?

My spouse and I are considering adopting a child, but our financial resources are limited, and we’ve heard that the process can be expensive. Do you know how we can fund the adoption process?

ANSWER:

Before saying anything else, we want to commend you on your willingness to open up your hearts and your home to a child who desperately needs caring parents. Your desire to look into this option reflects the love that Christ has for all children.

Since launching our Wait No More® Foster Care and Adoption Program we’ve been aware that many couples want to adopt but are inhibited by the costs.

One of our goals has been to provide as much information as we can about the financial aspects of the process in an effort to help prospective parents reach their goal. We’ve also made it our mission to recruit adoptive families for children in foster care. This is an excellent way to avoid the financial challenge since adoption from foster care costs virtually nothing.

While our website doesn’t specifically address the financial aspect of the adoption process, we encourage you to check out the referrals listed below. And if you’d like to discuss your plans with a member of our staff, call Focus on the Family’s Counseling department at 1-855-771-HELP (4357) for a free one-time consultation.
