Intellectuals love God by using their mind. They worship through thinking deeply about life and their faith.Â
What is the Intellectual?
Intellectuals love God by using their mind. They feel closest to God when they are reading books about Him. They do not like “soft-intellect” devotional books. They want to think deeply and figure out answers to life’s questions. This approach is exemplified by King Solomon, who tells us that he wrote his proverbs, “To know wisdom and instruction, to discern the sayings of understanding, to receive instruction in wise behavior, righteousness, justice, and equity: to give prudence to the naïve, to the youth knowledge and discretion…” (Proverbs 1:2-4).

Grow Your Faith
Although it is helpful to discover the easiest way for you to connect with God, this knowledge shouldn’t stop you from growing your faith in other ways. As an Intellectual, you have much knowledge about God and His truth. This knowledge is important, but it must be paired with action. Whether through serving others, or speaking up for the truth, acting upon the knowledge you have is a great way to expand your faith.Â
Here are some other ways that you can incorporate worship styles into your time with God:
- Â Caregivers love God by helping others. You can engage in this worship style by finding a way to encourage someone who needs it, whether through a meal, an encouraging note, or doing a task for them.
- Naturalists connect with God through his creation. Try going on a hike to pray and reflect.
- Sensates worship God through their senses. Embrace creativity and try worshipping God through drawing or painting.
